About Us
Our Journey of Empowerment and Inclusion
Disable Welfare Trust of India (DWTI) was founded in 1991 by the visionary and indomitable Dr. Kanubhai Hasmukhbhai Tailor, a Padma Shri awardee recognized for his relentless dedication and lifelong mission to uplift persons with disabilities. Rooted in compassion and driven by a powerful vision to transform adversity into opportunity, DWTI has grown from a humble initiative to one of Gujarat's largest and most respected institutions for the disabled community.
Since its inception, DWTI has been devoted to empowering the differently-abled through education, vocational training, healthcare, advocacy, and holistic rehabilitation – all provided free of cost to ensure dignity, independence, and equal opportunity for every beneficiary.
Our Vision
To build an inclusive society where every individual, irrespective of physical limitations, is empowered to realize their potential, lead a dignified life, and contribute meaningfully to their community and the nation.
Our Mission
To provide comprehensive support to persons with disabilities by offering:
Free, barrier-free education from primary through higher secondary levels, including ITI and BCA College.
Vocational training and skill development for self-reliance.
Advanced healthcare and corrective surgeries through our multi-speciality Prabhu General Hospital.
Rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy and provision of assistive aids like wheelchairs, crutches, and artificial limbs.
Social integration and awareness programs to eliminate stigma and foster inclusiveness.
Special initiatives such as marriage support services and an upcoming Old Age Home exclusively for elderly Divyangjans.
Our Founder’s Inspirational Legacy
